I’ve been staying at hotels in the Philippines more and more frequently in the last few years, and I’ve come to one conclusion: they are the best in the world. They are so luxurious, so charming, so peaceful, and all the other adjectives you can come up with to describe them. I cannot wait to return home to my own private, comfortable, and tranquil, oasis at the end of the road.

There is so much more to explore there, and you can find beautiful cave formations that you can climb for awesome views.

Bailao is also home to one of the best restaurants in the country, Hotel Bahia Principe Fantasia. If you prefer something a bit more traditional, there is also a local mom-and-pop restaurant here in Bailao.

Like all of the other places on this list, you will need to be self-sufficient in order to get to the beach. There are a lot of things that you can do there that aren’t available in the city. The locals know this – they’ve had the same problem for years. Also, the beach is very popular with young people so don’t be afraid to take your shirt off.
